RE: 1995 anti-Asian hate violence incidents

This message is being posted on behalf of the National Asian
Pacific American Legal Consortium and its affiliated legal
organizations, who are currently compiling data on anti-Asian
hate crimes for their 1995 Audit on anti-Asian hate crimes.

If you know of any anti-Asian hate violence (beatings,
robberies, rapes, etc.) or harassment (hate mail, verbal
harassment, etc.) which occurred during 1995 (or 1996), please
call or email the following information (or as much of it as
possible) to:

Asian Law Caucus
(speak to Thanh Ngo or Angelo Ancheta)
(415) 391-1655
hn5601@handsnet.org

Hate violence incident information:

1) Date of incident
2) Location of incident (city, state)
3) Description of incident, including type of
violence or harassment and any specific slurs
4) Info on victim(s) and perpetrator(s),
including number, gender, age, ethnicity or race
5) Any police response
6) Known or suspected bias or motive (race, gender,
immigrant, sexual orientation)

Your help is very important to this community-based effort to
raise national awareness regarding anti-Asian violence. Without
centralized law enforcement efforts to track anti-Asian
violence, community-based efforts provide the only statistical
information regarding such issues.

Thank you for your assistance. For more information about the
audit, please contact the ALC.
